DIY Calendar Blog Hop…March 2026

What comes to mind when you think about the month of March? Probably the most obvious is St.Patrick’s Day. As much as I enjoy the day and all its celebrations I am not focusing on St. Patrick’s Day for this hop. Here’s why. I really wanted to play with the new Cutest Crew bundle. I do not currently have any pets but I still couldn’t resist getting the bundle. So, I went in search of a celebration that would fit the Cutest Crew bundle and I found the perfect one…National Puppy Day on March 23! Who knew?

Here’s a little more about National Puppy Day that I found on Google. “National Puppy Day is celebrated annually on March 23 to honor the unconditional love puppies bring, while raising awareness about the need for adoption and the cruelty of puppy mills. Founded in 2006 by Colleen Paige, this day encourages finding forever homes for orphaned pups through shelter adoption.”

For you curious people, yes there is also a National Kitten Day. That Day is celebrated on July 10th of every year. There are separate days for Dogs (August 26th) and Cats (October 29th).

Love these little puppies! I had a little fun coloring them with Stampin’ Blends and adding some spots. Just so fun, quick and cute. I added some grass by lightly adding some Garden Green ink with a Blending Brush. The sentiment is also from the Cutest Crew set and it is perfect for a calendar. The little paw prints is a die in the bundle. I have it in my mind to make a card with a background of little paws. The only thing that is not from the Cutest Crew bundle are the little hearts on the side of the sentiment. Those little hearts are from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing folder and dies.
