DIY Calendar Blog Hop…April

Welcome to the DIY Calendar Blog Hop. The Hop goes live on the 1st of the month. We hop and share how we decorated our calendars. The calendar template was created by Anne- the Maui Stamper and you can order your own calendar template by clicking HERE.

April brings longer days, warmer temps, and everything starting to bloom again. We also celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd. Earth Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of environmental issues and protection, combat pollution, and promote sustainability.

I used the Hope Love & Joy bundle for my calendar. I could easily have used the other words (Joy and Love) for my calendar as we definitely need those things too.

Here’s what I used on the calendar

  • Smoky Slate CS
  • Pastels Shimmer Specialty Paper
  • Lunar Lustre Specialty Paper
  • Hope Love & Joy bundle
  • Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  • Pool Party ink
  • Old Olive and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends
  • Thoughtful Moments Hybrid EF and dies (Real Red heart)
  • Wink of Stella
  • Fine-Tip Glue Pen

The earth image was colored using Stampin’ Blends. To add a little sparkle I brushed on Wink of Stella. It looks much more shimmery in real life. The Real Red heart was cut using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies and added to the earth. The entire image was covered using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. The glue pen dries clear and also adds a bit of dimension. It looks almost like an enameled embellishment. The only drawback is that you need to give it time to dry.

Thank you for stopping by. It is now time to check out what Cheryl and Anne have created for you.
