Scalloped Wishes Thinking of You

It is Thursday and time for a new Create with Stamping Friends Challenge. This week is a color challenge and it is a tough one- Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, and Peach Pie.

Are you thinking, that is some color combination? When faced with colors that do not feel like a natural combination, I often turn to color blending. I hope that by blending the colors it will help make them look more cohesive.

  • Coastal Cabana card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
  • Early Espresso layer 4″ x 5-1/4″.
  • Sentiment from the Friendly Foliage set inked in Early Espresso stamped on a Coastal Cabana layer 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″. Coastal Cabana layer was then embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing folder.
  • Early Espresso scalloped frame cut using the Scalloped Wishes dies.
  • Very Vanilla CS oval cut using the Scalloped Wishes dies. Ink blending using Blending Brushes starting with Peach Pie, Coastal Cabana, and then Azure Afternoon.
  • Cattail image (Scalloped Wishes stamp set) inked in Early Espresso stamped over the blended background.
  • Dragonflies from the Scalloped Wishes stamp set inked in Early Espresso stamped on a scrap piece of the blended background.
  • Very Vanilla layer 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Dragonfly cut using the Scalloped Wishes dies. The body is Peach Pie and the wings were cut using the scraps from the blended background.
