Blue Poppies
I have been distracted lately. Lots of things to think about and decisions to make and we have had a house guest for the past week and a half. Let me introduce Coco.
Isn't she a cutie? It was tough going for the first few days but now we are all getting used to each other and things are going much smoother. If you are wondering how i made the postcard above, it is with the Stampin' Up! app. It is quick and easy to use, go to ITunes to check it out.
Over the weekend we went to a Rhododendron Garden near our house. They have an event on Mother's Day weekend with a plant sale and different speakers but I wanted to go to see one thing. Ready?

I decided I wanted to try making my own blue poppies and thought about the new Stampin' Up! Hostess set called Simply Sketched. In this set there is a poppy image and here's what I came up with.
Stamps: Simply Sketched (2013-14 Hostess set), Flowering Flourishes (swirl in Illuminate ink)
Ink: VersaMark, Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad

Extras: Aqua Painter, White Taffeta ribbon
I know it doesn't compare to the real thing but it was fun trying.
