Fun Fold Friday Good as Gold Pocket Card
I love all the new kits that Stampin' Up! offers especially if they are FREE. Yes, I am talking about the Good as Gold card kit available as a free gift during Sale-A-Bration. In this kit you get everything you need to make 8 cards and all you have to have is adhesive. I love the gold foil envelope liners, the little banners in different languages makes me very happy, and don't get me started on the cute card base with all the little dots even gold foil ones. Yes, it is a fun little kit .
Today I am going to make a pocket card using the items in the Good as Gold card kit and the following:
- 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" Bermuda Bay card stock
- 3" x 4-1/2" Whisper White card stock
- sentiment to match the banner ( I used A Dozen Thoughts on page 59 of the AC)
- Black ink
- Large Scallop Edgelit (I am on an Edgelit kick. I thought I had lost all my Edgelits but recently found them in the back seat of my car. I guess they wanted to go riding)
- Multipurpose Liquid Glue
- Ruler or Grid Paper (pg 177 130148 -I stamp on these placemats and they are so handy to do a quick measurement)
Step 1. Cut the Good as Gold card base so it measures 3-3/4" x 7".
Step 2. Cut a 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" strip from the gold foil envelope liner. If you cut it from the bottom of the envelope liner you can still use the top to line your envelope. Use the Large Scallop Edgelit to cut your gold foil.
Step 3. Attach the gold scallop to the top front edge of the card base. Now be careful, the highest part of your scallop cannot be more than 4-1/2". This is where the Grid paper really comes in handy.
Step 4. Now you are ready to glue. Apply a thin line of glue along the side and bottom of the card to form a pocket. Try and stay as close to the edge as possible. If you glue too far in the card insert may need to be trimmed.
Step 5. Now it is time to decorate. I used 2 of the narrow banners to cover up the seam between the scallop and the card.
Step 5. Wrap the twine around the card and tie a bow. Attach your word banner of choice with Stampin' Dimensionals to the right side of the card covering the ends of the colored banners. Attach one of the gold stars to the upper left hand side of the Whisper White card stock and stamp the sentiment. Layer it on to the Bermuda Bay card stock. This is the card insert for your pocket.
