The For the Birds set (on the 9/30-10/6 Weekly Deal) is perfect for this project since it has sentiments and images for lots of different occasions.
Note Card Holder
Score on 3 sides of the gift card enclosure at 3/8″. Glue as show below.
If you want to line the note card holder, cut a circle using the Circle framelits (130911). Use the #7 circle framelit (#1 being the smallest circle framelit).
Rosette aka lollipop
1. Choose a sheet from the Trim a Tree paper stack and score at 1/2″ intervals (1/2″, 1″…6″).
2. Cut along the 4-1/2″ side at 1-1/2″and 3″. You will have 3 1-1/2″strips.
3. Fold each strip alternating between mountain and valley folds.
4. Glue each end to make a circle. Flip it to lay flat.
5. Squirt a small puddle of hot glue onto your silicone sheet and scrunch up the circle and place the center of the rosette on the glue. Hold in place to allow the glue to set.
Belly Band
1. Cut 2 2″ strip from a sheet from the Trim a Tree paper stack. Join them to make one long strip.
2. Wrap it around the holder and fold along the edges with your fingers. Be sure to be aware of the placement of the seams. I like to hide the seams in the back and under the rosette. Cut the strip and attach the ends and secure it to the holder.
The holder will accomadate 2-3 note cards with envelopes. I plan to package these in the 6″ x 8″ cellophane bags ( pg 200 102210).
